For me its therapeutic. I began this blog as a way to document a new way to try and manage my health and turned it into a place I can go to vent and share my experiences as a person living with a chronic illness that has no cure.
I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in 2004 when I was 22. I had a high fever, night sweats, fatigue, and a cough for 4 weeks straight. After a biopsy and every blood test and scan possible it was determined that I did not have lymphoma or Cat Scratch Fever which left Sarcoidosis of the lungs. I was given treatment and told that if it didn't come back in a year it probably wouldn't. Three years later it showed up in my lungs again and went away on its own. In late 2008 I began having this horrible head pain that was an intense as a migraine but different. One lumbar puncture, more blood tests, trips to 2 different major universities to see specialists, and 5 MRIs later I was given a diagnosis of Neurosarcoid.
Being ill led me to an entirely different path than I ever expected to be on. At this point I'm grateful for my experiences and glad to share them so that others may learn there is hope on the other side.
